Nowadays, some may support the idea that building a factory near our community can helps to improve living standard of people and to drop the unemployment rate. It will also give a good chance for the development of other business in our community such as shops, theatres and restaurants. The quality of life will improve significantly.
But others have a negative attitude. They believe that building a factory will harm our environment. The factory produces a lot of waste that it will be thrown away into our rivers. The air will be polluted by poisonous gases. In consequence, our health will be seriously affected. Another disadvantage: it will disturb the quiescence of our community.
Of course, there are some advantages and disadvantages in building a factory in our community. I support the idea that it must be done. My arguments for this point are listed as follows:
First, it will increase job’s opportunity. For example: a Hydro plant, that it will be built in Porto Velho – Rondônia, is expected to employ 15,000 of people. In doing so, people will improve their quality of life, that it means a better education for their sons. It’s all a matter of opportunity.
Second, protecting environment organizations do not permit the people to fish or to hunt. What can they do if they can not fish or hunt? Either they will go hungry or they will look for something “easer”.
Taking into account of all these factors, we may reach the conclusion that we need to progress, even it could affect our daily life.
